Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AIML)
The Department of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning was established at T. John Institute of Technology in 2022. The courses are offered under the auspices of VTU and are recognized by Govt. of Karnataka and AICTE, New Delhi. The department seeks to excel as a technology hub processing research and educating students on current technological developments. It is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and is supported by a team of dedicated and qualified staff members.
The department’s Objectives are:
• To excel in professional careers and contribute effectively to technological innovation through advanced skills and knowledge in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
• To foster leadership and ethical responsibility in AI and ML careers, promoting effective collaboration and societal impact.
• To encourage lifelong learning to adapt and contribute to AI and ML research, innovation, and development.

Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) & Information Science and Engineering (ISE)
The Department of Computer Science & Engineering was established at T. John Institute of Technology in 2006. The Information Science Department at TJIT was established in 2007. The courses are offered under the auspices of VTU and are recognized by Govt. of Karnataka and AICTE, New Delhi. The department seeks to excel as a technology hub processing research and educating students on current technological developments. It is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and is supported by a team of dedicated and qualified staff members.
The department’s Objectives are:
• Demonstrate individual personality/attributes, professional attitude, and ethics while providing solutions in professional, societal and environmental contexts.
• Develop industry-focused skills, ethics and leadership qualities to become successful engineers and entrepreneurs in multidisciplinary domains.
• Demonstrate a life-long learning attitude by adapting to emerging technologies.

Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)
The Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering was established at T. John Institute of Technology in 2006. The courses are offered under the auspices of VTU and are recognized by Govt. of Karnataka and AICTE, New Delhi. The department seeks to excel as a technology hub processing research and educating students on current technological developments. It is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and is supported by a team of dedicated and qualified staff members.
The department’s Objectives are:
• Develop and excel in their chosen profession on the technical front and/or progress toward advanced continuing education, interdisciplinary research, and Entrepreneurship.
• Become a reputed and innovative solution provider to complex system design problems or challenges relevant to Electronics and Communication.
• Progress as an effective team members and achieve a leadership position with trust, mutual respect, and professional ethics.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
The Department of Computer Applications at T. John Institute of Technology was established in 2023 with a vision to deliver excellence in computer education. With an annual intake of 60 students, the department is committed to nurturing industry-ready professionals who are well-equipped to meet the ever-evolving demands of the IT sector. The course is offered under the affiliation of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) and is approved by the Government of Karnataka and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The department aspires to establish itself as a centre of excellence in technology by promoting research and imparting education aligned with current technological advancements. Through a balanced mix of theoretical instruction and hands-on training, students develop a strong foundation in computer science, software development, data management, and emerging technologies. The department fosters a dynamic and inclusive learning environment, actively promoting innovation, research, and collaboration with both industry and academic partners.
The department’s Objectives are:
• To impart science-based engineering education to develop professional skills that will prepare the students for immediate employment and provide them with a solid foundation for further education.
• To provide state-of-the art infrastructure for students to develop their skills to develop an understanding among students of the human, social and business context in which they will utilize their engineering skills.
• To develop the design capability among students so that they have the ability to participate in creative, synthetic and integrative activities of the relevant branch of engineering.
• To keep pace with changing times by providing quality education through value added courses, beyond the curriculum prescribed by the University.
• To create among students the curiosity, the desire and the ability to keep learning throughout life. Character building in students, so as to enable them to become responsible citizens and committed professionals. Have continuous association, involvement and partnership with the corporate world.

Research & Development Cell (R&D Cell)
The fast-changing scenario in the fields of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Information Science & Engineering, and Master in Computer Applications necessitates the R&D cell to actively extend its focus and activities in research and development, consultancy programs, and Industry-Institute Interaction. Being a frontrunner in the field of technology, the department envisages evolving as a center of excellence, at par with any world-class technical institute, and adapting itself to the rapid advancements in various specialized fields.
The department’s Objectives are:
• To create an environment that encourages faculty and students to engage in research activities.
• To support the development of new ideas, technologies, and processes; aid researchers in applying their findings; and assist with intellectual property protection and commercialization.
• To identify and secure funding for research projects from various sources, including government agencies, industry partners, and other organizations.
• To establish and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, enabling joint research, technology transfer, and student opportunities.
• To enhance faculty research capabilities by providing training, workshops, and professional development, and to encourage them to publish in reputable journals and present at conferences.
